It’s about midway through the summer and you’ve downed too much beer and sipped too many sugary wines. It’s time to search for refreshment from another bottle… or should we say, barrel? Refreshing Bourbon Cocktails
John Collins
Sweet, sour, and sparkly.
- 1.5 oz Joseph Magnus Bourbon
- 1 oz lemon juice
- .5 oz simple syrup
- 2 oz club soda
- Orange slice, garnish
- Maraschino cherry, garnish
Pour Joseph Magnus Bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a Collins glass. Stir until combined. Add ice cubes and top with club soda. Garnish with a cherry and orange slice.
Bourbon Smash
Minty fresh and sophisticated.
- 2 oz Joseph Magnus Bourbon
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 3-4 sprigs spearmint
- 2 lemon wedges
Muddle mint and lemon wedges at the bottom of a cocktail shaker to release flavors. Add simple syrup and Joseph Magnus Bourbon. Shake well. Fill a glass with crushed ice and strain the mixture over ice.
Bourbon Sidecar
Classic summer lemonade, but better.
- 2 oz Joseph Magnus Bourbon
- 1 oz orange liqueur
- .75 oz lemon juice
- Lemon wedge
Add Joseph Magnus Bourbon, orange liqueur, and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until combined, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Sour Apple
Crisp and cold.
- 1.5 oz Joseph Magnus Bourbon
- 1.25 oz apple juice
- .75 oz triple sec
- .25 oz lemon juice
- 2 dashes orange bitters
Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake mixture well and strain into an Old Fashioned glass over ice cubes.
Summer Jewel
Sweet, sweet summertime.
- 1.5 oz Joseph Magnus Bourbon
- 2 oz lemonade
- 1 oz pomegranate juice
- Lemon wedge
Add Joseph Magnus Bourbon, lemonade, and pomegranate juice into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
