Summer never lasts as long as we’d like. The days are still hot, but the nights are getting brisk. Our team is warming up with our 114 Proof Vigilant Navy Strength Gin. Distilled with figs, fresh mint, lemon, hops, hibiscus, and hand-crafted harissa, this gin is savory, spicy, and smoky. Here are a few cocktail recipes curated by our team and made with our Navy Strength Gin to help ease you out of summer and into shorter days…

Cucumber Limeade

1.5 oz Joseph Magnus Vigilant Navy Strength Gin
1 oz lemonade
.25 oz lime juice
2 cucumber slices
Fresh basil leaves

Muddle the basil and cucumber in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add the remaining ingredients to the shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a glass over ice, and garnish with a cucumber wheel.

Garden Gin & Tonic

1.5 oz Joseph Magnus Vigilant Navy Strength Gin
.5 oz Vermouth
2 dashes orange bitters
Tonic water

Add the gin, vermouth, and bitters to a glass with ice. Top off with tonic water to the rim. Optional garnish with a lavender sprig, cucumber slices, and/or lemon wedge.

Singapore Sling

1 oz Joseph Magnus Vigilant Navy Strength Gin
.25 oz Grand Marnier
.25 oz cherry liqueur
.25 oz herbal liqueur
1 oz pineapple juice
.5 oz lime juice
1 dash bitters
Club soda
Orange slice
Maraschino cherry

Add the gin, Grand Marnier, liqueurs, juices, and bitters to a shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a glass, and top off with club soda. Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherry.

Bee’s Knees

1 oz Joseph Magnus Vigilant Navy Strength Gin
.5 oz lemon juice
.5 oz honey syrup
Lemon wedge

To make the honey syrup, add .5 cup honey and .5 cup water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until blended.

To make the cocktail, add the gin, lemon juice, and honey syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until chilled, then strain into a cocktail class. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
