Freedom is infused in our spirits. Our namesake and pioneer whiskey connoisseur, Joseph A. Magnus, was known for his pre-prohibition persistence, and today our company is still based upon his rigor and passion for liberation.

We are grateful for our freedom and we want our spirits to help you celebrate yours. Enjoy these cocktail recipes on the 4th, and let freedom ring.

Gindependence & Tonic

Add some fruity, colorful patriotism to a classic gin & tonic.

  • 2 oz Vigilant Navy Strength Gin
  • 4 oz tonic water
  • Frozen red raspberries and blueberries

Fill a cocktail glass with ice cubes, frozen raspberries, and blueberries. Pour in the gin, and top off with tonic water.

New America, Old Fashioned

This sweet sipper is perfect for a hot 4th and patio parties.

  • 2.5 oz Joseph Magnus Bourbon
  • 1 tbs simple syrup
  • 5 dashes bitters
  • 2 peach slices
  • 2 blackberries
  • Sparkling water

In an old fashioned glass, combine the simple syrup, bitters, and one peach slice. Muddle these ingredients together to mix flavors and release the fruit juice. Add bourbon and fill with ice cubes. Toss in the blackberries, top off with sparkling water to the rim, and garnish with the remaining peach slice.

Liber-tea & Justice

Easy to drink and cuts to the chase, another classic American cocktail.

  • 2 oz Murray Hill Club Whiskey
  • 4 oz chilled sweet tea
  • Lemon wedge

In a cocktail shaker, combine the whiskey and sweet tea with ice cubes and shake until combined. Strain into a cocktail glass, squeeze a few drops of lemon juice on top, and garnish with the lemon wedge.

The Firework

Bubbly and fresh, this sparkler will please a crowd more than a firework show.

  • 1.5 oz Joseph Magnus Bourbon
  • 3 oz chilled sparkling wine
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  • Mint leaves

Muddle the mint leaves, then add to a cocktail shaker with the simple syrup, bourbon, lemon juice, and crushed ice. Shake until well mixed, then strain into a cocktail glass. Top it off with sparkling wine.
