Rosy Evening Cocktail
A rich gin cocktail that shares the same shade as the last breath of the sunset
1 oz Joseph Magnus Vigilant District Dry Gin
.75 oz orange liqueur
.75 oz Lemon juice
.5 oz red wine
.5 oz lemon juice
.5 oz simple syrup
1 pasteurized egg whites
In a shaker without ice, combine the egg whites, Joseph Magnus Vigilant District Dry Gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and red wine. Shake until well mixed, at least 30 seconds. Add ice and shake for 30 more seconds. Double strain and pour through a fine-mesh strainer into a coupe glass. Garnish with an edible flower.
The Magnus Martini
A gin martini with a little extra depth and a whisper of citrus
2.5 oz Joseph Magnus Vigilant District Dry Gin
.5 oz Lillet Blanc
2 dashes orange bitters
Lemon twist, for garnish
Chill a coupe glass with ice water. In a mixing glass, stir Joseph Magnus Vigilant District Dry Gin, Lillet, and bitters with ice until perfectly chilled. Strain into the prepared glass. Express the lemon twist over the drink and drop it in.
Bourbon & Blossom
A floral, honey-kissed bourbon sipper
2 oz Joseph Magnus Bourbon
.75 oz lavender honey syrup*
0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
lavender sprig, garnish
*Lavender Honey Syrup: Steep 1 tbsp dried lavender in ½ cup hot water for 5 mins. Strain, then mix with ½ cup honey.
Shake bourbon, syrup, and lemon juice with ice. Double-strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass. Garnish with lavender sprig.
The Midnight Julep
A smoky, refined twist on a classic
2 oz Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend Bourbon
0.5 oz blackberry syrup (or muddled fresh blackberries)
8–10 fresh mint leaves
Crushed ice
Smoked cinnamon stick, garnish
Gently crush mint leaves to release oils, then place in a julep cup. Add blackberry syrup and bourbon, and muddle, then fill the cup with crushed ice. Churn with a bar spoon to mix and frost the cup. Top with more ice, garnish with a smoked cinnamon stick (lightly torch it for aroma).
Gin & Tonic No. 12
Not your average G&T. This version uses a rosemary-infused twist for a cocktail that’s crisp, herbaceous, and utterly refreshing.
2 oz Joseph Magnus Vigilant District Dry Gin
3 oz tonic water
0.5 oz rosemary simple syrup*
Rosemary sprig, garnish
grapefruit twist, garnish
*Rosemary Syrup: Simmer ½ cup sugar, ½ cup water, and 2 rosemary sprigs for 5 mins. Cool and strain.
Fill a highball glass with ice. Add gin and rosemary syrup, then top with tonic. Stir gently, then garnish with rosemary and grapefruit twist.
